Computer training for blind deaf and disabled people in their own home

Hi Everyone

 

Due to increased demand we have introduced a student waiting list – we currently have 80-90 students waiting for training and/or recycled second hand computers.   Our fundraising department is working hard to secure funding to enable us to provide these courses. We are also interviewing potential tutors to help us meet this increased demand. 

 

We had a productive meeting at the beginning of the month with Job Centre Plus to discuss the procedure for U Can Do IT gaining the “Two Ticks” Disability Symbol. We have another meeting scheduled for March to take things forward http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/JCP/Customers/HelpForDisabledPeople/DisabilitySymbol/index.html

 

We are also preparing for our Assessment to gain the Matrix Standard which is scheduled for the end of February http://www.matrixstandard.com/
