Week Commencing 17th February

The good news this week was that Camden Youth Service identified six young people to come on our course. As we need to have allocated our Connexions grant funds by the end of March this was very welcome news. Our hardest task is always recruiting new students, but it has been a greater challenge still to outreach to young people so we were pleased to have such positive results to report at our meeting with Connexions on Wednesday.

We have also been busy in Camden Central. The SRB area is very small and Cliff Docherty visited the area on foot to get a better idea of how to improve outreach efforts there. A visit to the Somers Town Community Centre proved useful and we may be able to teach students without computers in their computer room. In the meantime they are displaying posters and leaflets on our behalf. The walk also revealed several local churches willing to display information, and a number of newsagents have small information cards in their windows. Lastly, the Camden Chronicle ran a short article about about our work in the area and this too has generated interest.
