Following on from the success of the Connecting U free computer programme (August news letter), we have now concluded another similar arrangement in Kensington & Chelsea (K&C). This time the partners are Leonard Cheshire, K&C Council, RealPoptel (who are supplying the refurbished computers) and ourselves. This is a 2 year programme covering 50 people, application forms are available from Cheshire"s Workability division otherwise let us know if you want any further information.
We took a stand at the Independent Living Exhibition held at the Wembley Arena for the last time, as this is now moving to Crystal Palace, and once again proved to be a great success. Patricia Webb did most of the work, and was surrounded by a fleet of wheelchair users while she was demonstrating Dragon"s voice recognition system.
We have also had very useful meetings with Shaw Trust (employment) and RNIB to discuss partnership arrangements
