Introduction
Since the charity started, we have given training to more than 2,000 people and completed more than 22,000 individual tutorials. However, this comes nowhere near reaching our estimate of 150,000 disabled people in the United Kingdom who could benefit from the service we offer.
Our freelance tutors visit people in their own homes and teach them to use their own computers. It is much easier and much cheaper for an able bodied person to reach the home of a disabled person, than a disabled person travelling into a college or day centre. Special software or assistive devices may also be needed.
The computer and the Internet has created a new world for us all. In a few years the Internet will become an essential part of life. Every disabled person should have a computer in their own homes and be taught how to use it.
