A survey of almost 1,000 disabled people and their families has found widespread abuse of disabled parking bays in supermarket carparks. The figures show 98 per cent of people had seen designated parking bays being misused, 70 per cent of them more than ten times.
The survey was organised by the Baywatch Campaign - British Polio Fellowship, Disabled Drivers' Association, Disabled Drivers' Motor Club (DDMC) and Disability Now. It raises questions over the supermarket's compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
