UCanDoIT ITQ learner Joanne Wacha was live on 107 Meridian fm local community radio for East Grinstead and surrounding villages Tuesday 13th and 20th. She says "I think I have found one of my definite vocations in life, a major plus is I have met real lovely people with visual impairments and some of them are becoming friends for life."

Joanne, 24, says “I’ve been a Spinal Cord Injury wheelchair user and visually impaired for nearly 11 years and I am now blind. The UCanDoIT course has meant a huge amount to me. I applied for a place on the BBC “Inspired Mentoring” course and was accepted—meeting other disabled people who work in various parts of the BBC and hearing about their experiences.

The ITQ course means that I am now applying for jobs (I have never applied for anything before) and I can search for what is available and look for jobs that interest me instead of waiting for things to come to me.”
