Ahsan Naseer, 26, is Deaf and worked with his tutor using BSL to become the first of our learners to pass the ITQ.
Ahsan who already holds ECDL Levels 1 and 2 said “It is easier working one to one at home with a tutor who can sign than in a class”. Ahsan who lives in Forest Gate originally learnt Pakistan Sign Language and reads and writes in Urdu.
Since coming to the UK 3 years ago he has learnt BSL and English as well as his computer skills. He says “ The course was very enjoyable and I am now thinking of studying ITQ Level 3 and BSL Level 3”. He says he would like to use his new skills to get a job using IT and accounts.
