These are all links to external web sites that offer free resources. Some are better than others, so it is worth shopping around a bit to see what is actually on offer!

Anti Virus:
This is a must have piece of software for anyone accessing the Internet. But some anti virus software can be quite expensive. However, there is one software package that is free, works well, and doesn't clash with the Jaws screen reader package.
AVG 6.0 Free Edition is available from http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm You can download, install and use AVG 6.0 Anti-Virus system to reliably protect your computer and data free of charge. They develop AVG continuously by adding new viruses into the virus database, as well as new functions and features. All these improvements can be downloaded by clicking on 'Updates' on the 'Free Updates Page'.
General:
One fairly new site called FreesiteUK at http://www.freesiteuk.com/ is a UK based searchable web directory of free internet services. As they say on their site "A free information resource containing all the latest links to some of the more useful free services available for anyone with internet access".
