About The Project Menu: · Funding |
A New Name for WAACIS:WAACIS became to U Can Do I.T. in April 2002. The charity's Board of Trustees felt a new name was needed that would more clearly define what we are about, while at the same time putting over a positive message that I.T., and the Internet in particular, is, and should be, accessible to all. We hope our new name will enable us to encourage more blind, deaf and disabled people to take advantage of U Can Do I.T. tuition, learning how to access the online world, and join the thousands of other disabled people who are already surfing the web and discovering the freedom it can bring. The name change is also central to our fundraising and publicity strategies, creating an identity that is both easily remembered and attractive to potential funders. These changes come at an exciting time for the charity, which is continuing to grow at an ever-faster rate. Clearly there is great demand for accessible I.T. training, and this is a challenge we are meeting head on. We can do I.T. So can you.
