“I did not know how to use a computer and Jaws (screen reading) software before I started on the UCanDoIT course. I must admit, I was quite nervous at first, thinking it would be too overwhelming to learn. But once I got started, I was hooked and could not wait to learn more!
After completing the course, I can honestly say that I don’t know how I coped without it! I now use my computer and the Internet everyday. I shop online, receive newsletters from Action for Blind People and the RNIB via email and am able to access the BBC world service on the Internet.
I’m excited to say that thanks to the training I received, I have been able to start writing again. I haven't been able to do this for years. Without my computer and specialist software, this would never have been possible. A whole new world of opportunities is open to me again. I now have a couple of short stories waiting to be published and I’m also helping a friend of mine to write a play!
My progress goes to show there is no end to new opportunities ahead of me. I am so grateful for this experience and the huge difference it has made to my life! I can access so much more now; independently, confidently, conveniently and easily. Thank you, UCanDoIT!”
